A borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Quakertown had a population of 8,979 at the 2010 U.S. census. It is located 16 miles south of Bethlehem and 29 miles north of Philadelphia, making Q-town a border town of both the Delaware Valley and Lehigh Valley metropolitian areas. It considered part of the Allentown-Bethlehem urbanized area and the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington MSA. Originally settled by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). The settlement was not officially known as Quakertown until its first post office opened in 1803.
